Located in the Historic District of Manassas, Virginia, the Gates of Beautiful Adult Day (GOB) opened its doors in 2020.
Open five days a week, from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., the Gates of Beautiful Adult Day Program provides access to, participation in and benefits from person-centered programs and activities that support Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
The wide array of programs and activities are designed in accordance with Individuals Specialized Plans to promote their optimum level of functioning. Individuals socialize with their peers in meaningful, fulfilling ways. Daily activities range from exercise, art, therapeutic cooking, games, music, community outings, movies and more. Quiet time, Meditation and spiritual awareness are available options.
Gates of Beautiful professionally trained, compassionate, empathic and supportive staff provides person-centered care daily to program participants. Our staff consists of highly skilled Direct Support Professionals who have completed training and pass competency tests based upon Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services requirements.
Staff routinely partners and collaborates with GOB Individuals’ families, guardians, support coordinators and other stakeholders to ensure Individuals are safe and achieve Individual Support Plan goals including but not limited to:
1. Minimizing Stress & Agitation
2. Accommodating wandering
3. Restoring dignity and improve self-esteem
GOB’s primary goal is to support participants individually, building on their strengths while exploring new experiences. Services are based on the concept of person-centered thinking and practices.
